In January 2009 several neighbours came together to discuss a proposed land development bordering the South Lake Errock community.  We believed this development had the potential to compromise the last natural wetland of Lake Errock and destroy the fragile eco-system it supports. As this was unacceptable we made a commitment to protect the wetland and our community.

With diligent research, meetings with government officials and hours of door to door canvassing, we worked to bring this development to a halt.  While conversing with our neighbours other issues of concern surfaced. Many stories were shared showing frustration with government bureaucracy, political influence levied, “backroom deals” and untruths, all hindering our access to information and fair political representation leading to the degradation of our basic rights and freedoms.

Through this sharing we were further inspired to safeguard our unique community and in November of 2009 we legally incorporated as a non-profit society.   Our intention is to unite people with similar concerns and create a strong voice while building an aware, caring, connected community. Through these efforts, stewarding the environment and protecting our inherent rights, we believe we are:
